We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a permanent Deputy Care Manager of a Children’s Home.
Salary £25,295 to £27,905 (depending on experience) plus sleeping in bonus as per rota
Our client is looking for a Deputy Care Manager to join their team at a children’s home, near Loddon, on a full time permanent basis.
The Deputy Care Manager is an important management role, leading the home’s operation during any period of duty management and holding case coordinating responsibility. The person appointed to this role will play a pivotal part in consolidating and developing care practice.
The successful candidate will be one of a team of 5 DCMs supporting the Registered Manager and Head of Care. The DCMs lead shift teams, hold casework co-ordination roles for key children, support individual team members’ professional development and deputise for the Registered Manager whilst acting as duty senior.
Applicants must have a Level 3 Diploma (Residential Childcare or equivalent). Our client welcomes candidates with ambition as well as experience and will train all DCM team to Diploma Level 5. In addition candidates must have experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health complexities, and leading in a residential setting.
Some previous Deputy Care Managers have gained internal promotion to Head of Care and Registered Manager positions or have gained external promotion based on their experience.
This is a great opportunity for someone within a social work, health or educational environment who wishes to extend their experience, or for those who aspire to the management role as the next stage in their development.
Your current post may have contractual obligations to repay training costs for diplomas or other significant courses if you leave. Our client values that experience and therefore if you were successful in securing a role they would relieve you of that obligation to your current employer and meet those costs.
Our client is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments are dependent on a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.
