Our Client is seeking a Junior Sales Account Manager who will be responsible for developing strong relationships with customers and connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. This is an exciting entry level opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who has previous sales experience and a passion for IT. The company is an IT Managed Services company that has been in business for over 30 years and has significant plans for growth, therefore this role offers the opportunity to progress quickly.
THE ROLE
In this role, you will liaise with internal teams (Service Desk, Projects, Finance, Commercial and Admin departments) to improve the customer experience.
You will identify new business opportunities among existing customers (up to 100+ clients) through Business Reviews, building 12 month or longer roadmaps for the clients and covering all services provided.
You will lead formal negotiations to achieve successful outcomes for solution & service sales with regards to maintaining the rules around minimum Gross Margin. You will develop an understanding and appreciation of competitors, their pricing and their strategy.
You will maintain good records using the tools available to ensure that the sales team are able to continue with opportunities and handle client queries in your absence due to holiday or sickness. In the absence of the Senior Account Manager or the BDE, you will provide support for their roles until they return to work.
You will be responsible for the retention and development of existing accounts based on the company’s portfolio as well as cross-selling and upselling. You will identify new services/products that you believe should be added to the portfolio that will enhance the company’s offerings and support its clients. You will bring these ideas to the management team to make the case.
As well as vCIO and sales roles, you will also be responsible for handling client queries. This will require liaison with the technical and finance teams and picking up client queries they have identified (e.g. late payments, poor response, etc.). You will assist with the handover of projects to the projects team and address any client concerns.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the non-technical point of contact for all allocated customers.
Generate, build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits.
Develop ‘trusted advisor’ relationships with your accounts, customer stakeholders and executives.
Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
Communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas.
Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. monthly sales results).
Prepare reports on account status.
Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed.
Ensure all initiatives relating to your accounts are met in a timely manner.
Coordinate projects for your accounts with the necessary departments.
Document the various processes and procedures associated with account management to assist future colleagues.
Streamline and automate processes where possible.
Create, maintain and update sales collateral for products and services offered by the company.
Work with suppliers to source hardware and maintain minimum margin targets and seek alternative suppliers if margin goals cannot be met.
Answer the office’s mainline if required.
Assist the sales team with order processing, quote production and renewals.
Develop an in-depth product knowledge of the products supplied by the company that relate to your role.
The successful candidate will have some sales experience, be a confident negotiator and have a passion for the IT industry. This is an office based role.
