ARC is currently looking for a Quality Control Welding Inspector in Wrexham for 6 months industrial work.

10 hours paid per day.

Digs will be booked by client.

Scope of Work: Quality Control Welding Inspector (Internal Code: W0011)

Position Overview: The Quality Control Welding Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of all welding operations on stainless steel and carbon steel pipes. The inspector will work closely with welders and the site supervisor to verify that all welding tasks meet industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect welding operations on stainless steel pipes (DIN 15 to DIN 1000, wall thickness 2mm to 10mm) and carbon steel pipes (DIN 25 to DIN 400, wall thickness 2mm to 9mm).
  • Verify that all welding methods, including TIG, MIG, Arc, and in-situ welding, meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Conduct visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds to identify defects or areas needing improvement.
  • Ensure welders are properly certified and adhere to safety and quality procedures.
  • Document and report on the quality of welding operations, including any non-conformances or deviations from specifications.
  • Work with welders to rectify any identified issues and ensure the final product meets quality standards.
  • Review welding procedures and techniques to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control measures.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent qualification, with experience in TIG, MIG, Arc, and in-situ welding inspection.
  • Extensive knowledge of welding standards and codes, particularly for stainless steel and carbon steel.
  • Proven experience in quality control within the welding industry, with a focus on pipe welding.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and welding procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality assurance practices.
