ARC Recruitment are recruiting Production Operatives for a cutting-edge vertical farming facility in Easton, Norwich. This innovative site grows fresh herbs and salads indoors all year round.
This is a great opportunity for ongoing work with the chance of a permanent contract after 12 weeks.

Shift Details
- Initial hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 18:00
- Pay rate: £12.71 rising to £12.77 after 2 successful weeks training / £13.68 rising to £13.75 after 2 successful weeks training (PAYE / PAYE AUTO)
- Contract: Temp to Perm after 12 weeks
Key Responsibilities
As a Production Operative, your duties will include:
- Placing wet mats into aluminium trays
- Accurately seeding mats
- Trimming and sizing products to customer specifications
- Manual weighing and bulk packing of produce
- Packing finished goods ready for distribution
- Preparing production lines for daily operations
- Carrying out hygiene duties including cleaning, mopping, and general tidying
Working Conditions & PPE
- General working area temperature: 18°C
- Packing room temperature: 8°C (suitable clothing recommended)
- Full PPE provided, including:
- Overalls
- Hairnet
- Wellington boots
- Additional PPE such as face masks and safety glasses required in some areas
Candidate Requirements
- Previous food production or manufacturing experience preferred
- Comfortable working in cooler environments
- Reliable, hardworking, and team-focused
- Own transport essential due to rural location and shift times

Night Traffic Operator (Containers)
Night Traffic Operator (Container Transport) – Nights
Location: London Gateway / Essex
Shift: Monday night to Saturday morning, 22:00–08:00
Salary: £33,500 starting salary + review after 6 months
A well-established and expanding logistics operation is seeking a Night Traffic Operator to support its overnight transport function. This is a key position within a busy container environment, suited to someone who is experienced, decisive, and comfortable working independently during high-pressure night shifts.
The Role
Working as part of a dedicated night team, you’ll oversee the smooth running of transport movements, ensuring drivers, ports, and internal systems remain fully aligned throughout the shift. This is a hands-on, real-time coordination role where quick thinking and accuracy are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage overnight vehicle movements
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with drivers and port contacts
- Respond to and resolve operational issues as they arise
- Ensure all transport systems and documentation are accurate and up to date
- Support the wider operation in maintaining service levels during peak activity
About You
- Proven experience within container transport or a similar traffic/operator role
- Confident working nights in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
- Able to make sound decisions independently

What you’ll be doing
As a Commercial Planner, you will be at the heart of operations, ensuring smooth planning and strong client relationships. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and coordinating Eastbound reloads efficiently
- Building and managing relationships with new and existing clients
- Proactively securing reload opportunities via telephone and email
- Supporting Senior Planners with daily operational activities
- Communicating plans clearly to drivers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Ensuring all export processes and customer requirements are followed
- Assisting with driver hours and timesheet management
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times
This is a role where communication, organisation, and initiative are key—and where your contribution directly supports business growth.
What we’re looking for
Our client is keen to hear from individuals who are:
- Experienced in transport, logistics, or a similar industry
- Or from a telesales / business development background with strong communication skills
- Confident speaking on the phone and building relationships
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, organised, and comfortable multitasking in a busy environment
You’ll ideally have at least 2 years’ experience and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with clients and driving results.
