I’m currently working with a well-established and growing residential main contractor who is looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of an experienced Quantity Surveyor.
This is a business with a strong pipeline of work across high-quality housing and apartment schemes, a solid reputation in the market, and a genuinely good culture – low turnover, supportive leadership, and realistic workloads.
They’re now looking for a Quantity Surveyor who can take ownership of projects from pre-contract through to final account and play a key role in the commercial success of the business.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the full commercial management of one or more residential projects, including:

Full cost management of projects from tender to final account

Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports

Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers

Valuations, variations, and change control

Subcontractor account management and payments

Final accounts and project close-out

Working closely with site and project management teams

The Role
As the Site Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the construction site, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standard of quality. You’ll coordinate trades, manage subcontractors, and liaise closely with clients, surveyors, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

The Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-focused Assistant Site Manager to join the delivery team on a large residential development in Chelmsford. This is a long-term opportunity with approximately three years remaining on the project, offering genuine progression and the chance to contribute to a high-profile scheme.
Working closely with the Site Manager, you will support the day-to-day coordination of site activities, ensuring smooth progress, exceptional finishing standards, and a safe working environment. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in high-end delivery and has a sharp eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily management of site operations and subcontractor coordination
- Ensure high-quality workmanship, with a particular focus on finishing and snagging
- Support the build programme, ensuring deadlines and quality benchmarks are met
- Maintain a safe site environment in line with company and legal standards
- Monitor progress and report issues or delays to the senior management team
