Refrigeration Engineer
Location: King’s Lynn, Norfolk (PE30)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £21.00 per hour + Excellent Benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join a well-established business. This is a permanent, static role based at a large manufacturing site in King’s Lynn, offering excellent long-term career prospects, ongoing training, and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will work across a wide range of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including air conditioning systems, water chillers, and DX refrigeration systems, while leading the on-site engineering team and maintaining strong client relationships.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
- 42.5 hours per week
- On-call rota: 1 week in every 4
Salary & Benefits
- £21.00 per hour
- £150 per week on-call retainer
- Overtime paid at applicable rates during call-outs

The Role
The Refrigeration Engineer will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, fault finding, and repair work across the site’s HVAC and refrigeration systems.
In addition to technical responsibilities, the successful candidate will lead and organise the on-site engineering team, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role also involves liaising directly with the client regarding completed and upcoming works, while working closely with the Mechanical Service Manager to coordinate planned maintenance schedules and ensure service documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Diagnose faults and complete repair and service work.
- Maintain air conditioning, water chillers, and DX refrigeration systems.
- Lead and coordinate the on-site engineering team.
- Ensure all maintenance records and service reports are completed accurately.
- Liaise directly with the customer regarding ongoing and completed works.
- Support the planning and organisation of future maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Refrigeration Engineer.
- City & Guilds 2079 Refrigerant Handling Certificate (F-Gas).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience across commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- IPAF Certification.
- PASMA Certification.
- Relevant Skill Card.

Valid SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred)

Strong understanding of electrical installation standards and site safety
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Excellent leadership and communication skills

Hvac Engineer
HVAC & Refrigeration Service & Installation Engineer
Location: Cambridgeshire / East Anglia
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE)

An established and growing building services contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC & Refrigeration Service & Installation Engineer to join its expanding Mechanical Services team across Cambridgeshire and East Anglia.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that is investing significantly in the growth of its HVAC division, offering long-term career progression, ongoing manufacturer training and the chance to work across a varied portfolio of residential and commercial projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a combination of installations, planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs and breakdown response across a wide range of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. They will work independently, deliver a consistently high standard of workmanship and provide excellent customer service while representing the business professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Install split, multi-split, VRF/VRV and refrigeration systems.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
- Diagnose, repair and service air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
- Commission newly installed systems.
- Perform leak detection, pressure testing, evacuation and refrigerant charging in line with current F-Gas regulations.
- Complete electronic job reports and commissioning documentation accurately.
- Identify additional repair requirements and provide recommendations where appropriate.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
- Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota once established.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current industry regulations.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience installing split and multi-split air conditioning systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Valid F-Gas Category 1 qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High standards of pipework, brazing and installation practices.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Bosch or other leading manufacturers.
- Refrigeration experience.
- Experience with VRF/VRV systems.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
- 18th Edition Electrical qualification.
- IPAF.
- PASMA.
- CSCS Card.
