ARC Group are recruiting on behalf of a well known housing association for their contract based in the Kings Lynn area. The successful candidate should have experience working on social housing properties and be responsible for the repairs and maintenance works within voids and responsive repairs.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Multi Skill Operative:

• As the Multi Skill Operative you’ll support, when required with the planned works programme (including Aids and Adaptations).
• As the Multi Skill Operative you’ll complete allocated works which will fall within operative’s trade / skill set but could range from carpentry, plumbing, groundworks, painting/decorating, external works, tiling, plastering etc.
• As the Multi Skill Operative you’ll deal with tenant enquiries and respond in a professional manner reporting anything back to the relevant manage.
• As the Multi Skill Operative you’ll refer complex technical queries to the relevant manager in the Technical Services team.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications for the role of Multi Skill Operative:

• Valid UK driving licence (Essential)
• Experience working on social housing properties
• Health and Safety Aware
• Able to work a selection of trades
• Good IT Skills, able to use inhouse work log system

Job Title: Clean & Clear Labourer

Location: Norwich

Duties & Responsibilities of a Clean & Clear Labourer:

• As the Clean & Clear Labourer you’ll be collecting waste, disused kitchen units, bathroom suites etc. and disposing of them in accordance with the Association’s procedures.
• As the Clean & Clear Labourer you’ll primarily be responsible to assist in the effective and efficient delivery of the service required within the responsive repair, void and planned service team.
• As the Clean & Clear Labourer you’ll often be working without supervision, you will deal with the responsive repairs and void areas of the business but will from time to time be requested to work within other areas of the business as required.
• As the Clean & Clear Labourer you work will include General Operative duties such as the collecting and disposing of rubbish and unwanted items to the Association’s sites

Desirable Experience & Qualifications for the role of Clean & Clear Labourer:

• Experience in property clearance
• Must have valid UK driving licence
• Experience working in domestic property maintenance
• Good IT skills due to using PDA system
• Social housing experience is desirable

Duties & Responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor:

• As a Quantity Surveyor you will be expected to prepare tender and contract documents
• Reviewing & Understand Client amendments to contract & Client ERs
• Undertaking cost analysis for tender returns on the project & produce comparison.
• Assisting in establishing the client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
• Performing risk and value management and cost control.
• Identify Value Engineering, Savings, & Commercial opportunities
• Advising on procurement strategy, & responsible for timely procurement.
• Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
• Allocating work to subcontractors.
• Providing advice on contractual claims.
• Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
• Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
• Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
• Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
• Preparing a monthly cost report (AFR) including forecast & control of prelim costs
• Monthly sub-contract valuations
• Monthly client valuations & variations, assess, value, and agree.
• Managing and guiding sub-team members

Desirable Experience required to work as a Quantity Surveyor:

• Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on residential projects
• Strong communication skills with good interpersonal and influencing skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (MS Word, Excel) etc

Qualifications & Skills required to work as a Quantity Surveyor:

• Degree qualified
• A creative and innovative approach to problem solving
• Strong numeracy and financial management skills
• The ability to learn sophisticated design and costing IT packages
• The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people
• Negotiation and team work skills
• The ability to motivate and lead those on site
• A detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters.
