Our client, a market leading civils contractor are looking for a General Foreman to work on a project in Hampshire.

Main projects will consist of roundabouts, bridges, car parks, pumping stations and infrastructure works.

Duties & Responsibilities of a General Foreman:

• To control all operations on site to ensure they are carried out efficiently, safely and to the required standards.
• To provide supervision of the works and control of a team comprising Foremen, Gangers and direct labour force.
• Supervision and control of the works of Subcontractors.
• Inputting into the production of Work Package Plans and Risk Assessments
• Identifying future requirements for setting out and communicate to Engineering team
• Input into weekly programme and monitor progress against KPI’s
• Carry out Independent Inspections of their own section and of others

Desirable Experience required to work as a General Foreman:

• You must have over 5 year’s civil engineering experience in a supervisory role.

Qualifications & Skills required to work as a General Foreman:

• Able to produce daily records via diary/allocation sheets.
• Able to read/understand drawings and specifications.
• Able to understand tender plant/labour allocations and outputs
• CSCS Gold Card Holder SMSTS
• NRSWA Supervisor Confined Spaces Training First Aid
• Temporary Works Supervisor Lift Supervisor
• Management of Confined Space IOSH Buried Services
• Being a team player is essential to the role.

Main projects will consist of roundabouts, bridges, car parks, pumping stations and infrastructure works.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Sub Agent:

• Management of sub-contract packages
  Commercial awareness would be an asset.
• Managing the overall site and providing guidance to trainee engineers
  Working closely with General Foreman/Site Manager re. resource and operations management and planning.
• Ensure all staff, subcontractors and visitors are properly inducted, meet the competencies required of them and hold relevant qualifications and tickets.
• Undertake an ambassadorial role, representing the Business to customers, the public and official bodies.
• Deliver end product to customer satisfaction Produce good quality, accurate monthly reports for the Client and internally

Desirable Experience required to work as a Sub Agent:

• Experience within the civils sector preferred working as a Sub Agent

Qualifications & Skills required to work as a Sub Agent:

• Knowledge of programming – ASTA Powerproject Contractually and commercially aware
• Able to interpret and implement drawings and specifications

Main projects will consist of roundabouts, bridges, car parks, pumping stations and infrastructure works.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Site Agent:

• Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project (or a package), ensuring that the client’s specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress and liaising with quantity surveyors to monitor costs
• Liaising with the client, other construction professionals and, sometimes, members of the public
• Coordinating and supervising construction workers
• Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety
• Knowledge of construction of associated water, waste water treatment and general utility infrastructure works
• Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
• Maintaining quality control procedures
• Writing reports and keeping on top of paperwork
• Understand the tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets – company financial reporting.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications required to work as a Site Agent:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a site agent on civils projects
• CSCS black or gold
• First Aid
• SMSTS
• Temporary Works Co-Ordinator Appointed Person – Excavator Only.
• Management of confined Space IOSH Management of Buried Services Contractual Knowledge
• Able to produce/update programmes using ASTA Powerproject.
• Able to read and understand drawings, BoQ’s and specifications.
