Our client, a large social housing contractor, are looking for a General Labourer / Driver to carry out day-to-day labouring tasks within domestic dwellings including ripping out, making good, delivering materials and waste clearance when required.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Clean & Clear Labourer

• Carrying out all aspects of general labouring duties on domestic dwellings, both internally and externally.
• Liaising with planners, tenants and premises managers with regards to the timing and progression of all works being undertaken
• Ensuring the safe handling and storage of all plant and equipment, including regular checks for road worthiness on vehicles for which you are responsible.
• Undertaking all work in accordance with Health & Safety policy statements and safe working practices
• Carrying out all tasks in association with your works
• Undertaking other duties as reasonably allocated by the line manager
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures

Education & Qualifications of a Clean & Clear Labourer

• Relevant trade qualification or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Relevant qualifications in any additional building skills

Experience and Attributes of a General Labourer / Driver: 

• Experience of working for a social landlord, council or housing association
• Good team player
• Ability to use own initiative and to work within guidelines
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent customer care qualities are vital to this role as you will be expected to liaise with customers and clients on a daily basis.

Job description:    Plumber / Multi-Trader 

Location:              Grantham and surrounding areas

Salary:                 £31,000 – £32,000 per annum

Our client, a property maintenance company who work in the social housing sector across Lincolnshire,  are looking for an experienced Multi-trader to work on a domestic maintenance social housing contract assisting in the void operations and planned maintenance in properties across the Grantham region. The candidate will ideally be a skilled and experienced Plumber with multi-trade skills in completing various day-to-day repairs and maintenance tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, plastering, tiling, painting and decorating etc. As a skilled multi-trade operative with relevant experience in planned maintenance and voids works, you will be required to undertake a variety of allocated works across the area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Management of day to day jobs allocated by a central team
• To ensure all assigned tasks are carried out to a safe and efficient standard.
• Promoting the client’s corporate image and excellent service standard
• Making decisions upon specialist experience and knowledge.
• Ensuring compliance at all times with necessary regulations, standards, and legal responsibilities of repair work and contractor compliance.
• Managing van stock effectively.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Experience within a domestic maintenance environment.
• Plumber / Multi Trade experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, telephone skills and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• An understanding and ability to show excellent customer service skills.

Certificates and Qualifications

• Trade City & Guilds/ NVQ qualification (Preferred)
• Asbestos Awareness Training. (ARC can provide free online certification for this)
• Full UK driving license.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 8-5pm  Overtime is available

This role is offeretd on a temp to perm basis with the potential to lead to a permanent position with the company after a minimum period of 13 weeks.

You will need to have your own van/transport for this specific role, and mileage will be paid. A company van may be provided once the role becomess permanent.

A local authority contractor responsible for the repairs and maintenance of 1000s of properties across East Anglia, are looking to recruit an experienced Plumber / Multi-Trader to join their team working in and around the Cambridgeshire area. Working on the Repairs & Voids Team completing maintenance work as required by tenants, including carrying out essential planned maintenance, installation and repair works to domestic properties, and any other duties including multi skilling works associated with your core trade.  

Responsibilities of a Plumber / Multi-Trader:

• Work in a safe, professional and courteous manner, ensuring that all works are carried out with all due regard to the Health and Safety of all persons that may be affected by the works.

• Proven experience in all aspects of planned works and repairs

Qualifications & Skills of a Plumber / Multi-Trader:

• City & Guilds Level 2 or NVQ level 2 or equivalent in plumbing and heating installation.
• Proven ability to produce work consistently to a high standards
• Ability to complete relevant certification for Plumbing works self-motivated able to work on your own initiative
• Willingness or experience in using a handheld Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to complete work and maintain van stocks.
• Holder of a full current driving licence
• Proven interpersonal and technical skills.
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
