Working Hours: Monday – Friday (40hrs per week)

ARC Group are looking to appoint an additional Project Manager to strengthen our clients project team and pipeline based in Ipswich. The ideal candidate should have experience in mechanical project management and Trained to NVQ 4 / Foundation degree level as a minimum in a relevant building services / project management field.

Main Duties Include, But Not Limited To:

• Overseeing overlapping projects to ensure costs, quality and programme remain in line with forecasts.
• Compiling bids for work & Presenting to clients and / or their representatives.
• Calculating the cost of materials, transport, labour and equipment hire.
• Obtaining quotes for all predicted requirements from sub-contractors and suppliers.
• Clarifying the client’s needs, compiling and submitting tender returns.
• Reading plans, taking measurements and quantities.
• Keeping up to date with inflation, exchange rates, materials, labour contractual and projected timescale costs.
• Knowledge of commonly used contracts such as but not limited to JCT / NEC.
• Making site visits to assess progress and provide clear direction to the project team as required.
• Liaising with construction managers, planners and design teams.
• Completing work quality submissions.
• Snagging management.
• Creation and issue of O&M manuals

Key Requirements:

• Knowledge of products, services and equipment associated with the mechanical, and construction trades.
• Trained to NVQ 4 / Foundation degree level as a minimum in a relevant building services / project management field.
• Knowledge of suppliers associated with the supply of materials and equipment to mechanical and construction trades.
• Knowledge of the construction industry and potential client base.

Company & Project:

Our client, a Civil Engineering Contractor are currently recruiting for experienced Site Agents to primarily work around the East Anglia area. You will be working extensively on Anglian water on the AMP frame work.

The main purpose of the Site Agent is to manage the construction and complete delivery of one or more schemes, safely, profitably, efficiently and in accordance with the contract. 

Duties & Responsibilities of a Site manager:

• Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project (or a package), ensuring that the client’s specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress and liaising with quantity surveyors to monitor costs
• Liaising with the client, other construction professionals and, sometimes, members of the public
• Coordinating and supervising construction workers and sub-contractors
• Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety
• Knowledge of construction of associated water, waste water treatment and general utility infrastructure works
• Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
• Maintaining quality control procedures
• Finding ways to prevent problems and to solve any that arise
• Writing reports and keeping on top of paperwork
• Helping to negotiating contracts and securing permits and licences
• Understand the tender allowances and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets – company financial reporting.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications of a Site Manager:

• Experience of working with waste water essential
• CSCS black or gold
• 1st Aid
• SMSTS

• Liaison/meetings with clients, supply chain, delivery teams and management.

Plumber / Mechanical Fitter

East Anglia

£34,000per annum

Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

ARC Group are currently recruiting for experienced plumber / mechanical fitters to join our M&E client covering acrross East Anglia. Van and fuel card provided for all business miles.

Main Duties Include, But Not Limited To:

• Working primarily on heating and plumbing system upgrades
• Strip out existing heating & hot water systems
• Install new complete systems including radiators, valves, pipework controls, and all other associated elements in an efficient, safe manner and in accordance with company Health and Safety policy, Safe Systems of Work and current regulations.

You will need:

• Trade background with experience in plumbing, heating and HVAC maintenance services
• Industry recognised qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or formal apprenticeship).
• Experience of Installation of radiators, surface mounted copper pipe work, combi boilers etc.
• Solid understanding of H&S and safe working practices

Gas Engineer

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week

ARC Group are seeking Gas engineers to undertake repair and installation of gas, plumbing and heating systems in Commercial & Domestic properties, ideally must be familiar with oil and medium and high-pressure systems.

Main responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• To undertake heating engineering & plumbing duties including reactive repairs, servicing of boilers and other appliances, installations and associated works.
• To undertake the installation of new domestic heating systems in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, industry best practice codes, practice, and legislation.
• To issue notices and certificates required by the relevant regulations relating to gas safety.
• To provide information to allow records to be updated following service and testing and update Gas Safety records using electronic or manual documentation.
• To acquire quotes for stock from authorised suppliers, materials required to undertake works through the approved order system
• To record completed works and maintain accurate record of work carried out including measurements and calculations.
