Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £45K (depending on experience)
Company & Project:
Our client, a company that specialises in new build and refurbishments are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Manchester.
Duties & Responsibilities (including and not limited to):
- Oversee daily on-site operations
- Coordinate employee schedules, ensuring adequate coverage
- Enforce all workplace policies and procedures
- Coordinate training and professional development activities for employees
- Maintain and adhere to departmental budget
- Approve project plans
- Address and report safety concerns in a timely manner
- Track and monitors project progress, adhering to prearranged standards
- Ensure compliance across the work site
- Review all project contracts before submitting to management
- Manage sub-contractors to ensure all deadlines are met
- Protect the company’s contractual position on all projects worked on
- Measurements, valuations, and agreement of work sections
- Submission of accurate and timely payment applications, and chasing payment certificates and outstanding payments
- Ability to identify areas of overspend, waste and commercial risk, and be able to produce feasibility studies and cost plans
- Production of accurate internal cost reporting, in addition to producing final accounts, and extension of time claims
- Working closely with the Construction team, able to advise on commercial risks and opportunities within projects
- Price tender submissions
- Cashflows, cost reporting and contract adjudication
- Meet clients and attend site meetings to review and discuss work carried out
Skills & Qualifications:
- CSCS card
- SSSTS would be an advantage but not essential.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts would be a great advantage.
Desirable Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a QS on residential or commercial projects.
- Be able to prioritise workload, work under pressure, be adaptable and resourceful
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities.
