Transport Planner / Operator
Location: Near Grimsby
Our client, a well-established trailer operator based near Grimsby, is currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner / Operator to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a logistics professional with a strong background in transport planning and operations to join a busy and growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and coordinating full load and part load deliveries and collections
- Liaising with hauliers, drivers, and customers to ensure efficient operations
- Managing day-to-day transport activities in line with customer requirements
- Supporting fleet operations, including awareness of driver hours and compliance
- Maintaining accurate records using internal systems and Excel
- Assisting with import/export processes and customs procedures where required
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in a transport planning or operator role (essential)
- Background within shipping/logistics (preferred)
- Understanding of customs procedures for import and export units (advantageous)
- Knowledge of fleet management and driver hours regulations (advantageous)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and transport systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
- Transport Manager CPC qualification (not essential)
Package:
- Salary circa £30,000, depending on experience
