Mechanical Project Manager
Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Ipswich / A12 Corridor
Salary: Circa £70,000 DOE
An established mechanical building services contractor is looking to bring a Mechanical Project Manager into the team to oversee a range of commercial projects across the A12 corridor.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to take ownership of projects ranging from smaller works valued at £50,000 or below through to larger schemes worth up to £2 million, with a particular focus on large plant rooms, Ministry of Justice (MOJ) buildings and government facilities.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing mechanical projects from initial planning and coordination through to installation, commissioning and final handover, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Projects will be predominantly within the commercial sector, providing a varied workload across public sector and government buildings.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing mechanical building services projects from inception through to completion.

Overseeing project programmes, budgets, procurement and subcontractor performance.

Coordinating site teams, engineers, suppliers and other trades.

Managing installation works, with a focus on large plant rooms and mechanical systems.

Ensuring health and safety, quality standards and contractual requirements are met.

Monitoring project costs, variations and progress against programme.

Maintaining strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.

Managing commissioning, snagging and final project handover.
About You

Previous experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within building services.

A strong understanding of commercial mechanical installations and plant room projects.

Experience managing projects ranging from smaller works packages through to larger schemes.

Comfortable working across commercial buildings, ideally including government or public sector facilities.

Strong organisational, commercial and client-facing skills.
-
Able to manage multiple projects and coordinate teams effectively.

Quantity Surveyor
Quantity Surveyor – M&E Contractor | London
Salary: Circa £75,000 + Package
Location: Cambridgshire
Mechanical or Electrical M&E experience essential – Electrical experience preferred

The Opportunity
I am recruiting on behalf of an established M&E Contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with a Mechanical or Electrical building services background who is looking to develop their career within a growing M&E business.
Electrical experience would be particularly advantageous, although candidates with a strong Mechanical QS background will also be considered.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of M&E projects from tender through to final account, working closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial aspects of M&E projects from commencement through to completion
- Preparing and managing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Cost reporting, forecasting and budget management
- Managing variations, valuations and change control
- Subcontract procurement and management
- Reviewing contracts and commercial documentation
- Managing commercial risks and identifying opportunities
- Working closely with Project Managers and Contracts Managers
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting
- Supporting the successful commercial delivery of projects
- Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the M&E / Building Services sector
- A Mechanical or Electrical background – Electrical experience preferred
- Good understanding of M&E construction and installation projects
- Experience managing variations, valuations, subcontractors and final accounts
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to work independently while supporting the wider project team
- A professional approach and the confidence to deal with clients and supply chain partners
A relevant Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or Building Services qualification would be advantageous, but relevant industry experience will also be considered.
