ARC are seeking an experienced Yard Manager for work in Spalding.

My client are seeking a hard working and reliable Yard Manager to join their team on a Permanent bases.

We are seeking an experienced Yard Manager or someone with Telehandler experience wanting to peruse a new career in this role will also be accepted.

The successful candidate will be working on a well established construction sub-contractors yard at their head office on a Temp – Perm basis.

Our client are looking for someone to join their team on a permanent basis after working 11 weeks though the agency.

To be considered for this position you must have a Telehandler ticket with experience operating the Telehandler.

Experience working as a yard manager is preferred, but not essential.

Main requirements for the role:

Telehandler ticket
Experience working on a yard
Labouring / Construction experience in the past
Driving licence

Main Duties:

Operating the telehandler
Stock / Material control
Assisting and supporting the Head office team, Site teams, Delivery drivers.
Keeping the yard clean and tidy

Courses in Lifting and PAT Testing will be offered if you do not have these already.

Our client, a large social housing contractor, are looking for a General Labourer / Driver to carry out day-to-day labouring tasks within domestic dwellings including material delivery and truck clearance when required.

Duties & Responsibilities of a General Labourer / Driver:

Carry out all aspects of general labouring duties on domestic dwellings, both internally and externally.
Liaise with planners, tenants and premises managers with regards to the timing and progression of all works being undertaken
Ensuring the safe handling and storage of all plant and equipment, including regular checks for road worthiness on vehicles for which you are responsible.
Undertaking all work in accordance with Health & Safety policy statements and safe working practices
Carrying out all tasks in association with your works
Undertaking other duties as reasonably allocated by the line manager
Adhering to all company policies and procedures

Education & Qualifications of a General Labourer / Driver:

Relevant trade qualification or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Relevant qualifications in any additional building skills

Good team player
Ability to use own initiative and to work within guidelines
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent customer care qualities are vital to this role as you will be expected to liaise with customers and clients on a daily basis.

The work is primarily for a large pub chain carrying out repairs and maintenance across their locations in London and the south.

Requirements-

– Experience in a multi-trade role.

– Skills in carpentry, painting and decorating, plastering, tiling, floor laying, bricklaying or roofing all an advantage.

– Good customer service skills as you will be attending pubs regularly in your designated area and discussing the works required to be carried out with the landlords.

Travel around London and the South East will be required. Travel time paid by agreement.

Hours of work are Monday – Friday mimumum 8 hours but there is no limit on overtime available including weeekends if desired.
