Location: Grantham, Lincoln and surrounding areas

Salary: £160.00 per day (self-employed CIS)

Our client, a large social housing contractor providing maintenance services to 1000s of properties across Lincolnshire is looking for an experienced Carpenter/ Multi trader to work on a domestic maintenance social housing contract assisting in the void operations and planned maintenance in properties across the Grantham and Lincoln region.

The successful individual will ideally hold a minimum level 2 NVQ or be time-served in carpentry whilst also being experienced in completing various other day to day repairs/maintenance tasks such as plumbing, plastering tiling, painting and decorating etc. As a skilled multi- trade operative with relevant experience in responsive maintenance and voids works you will be required to undertake a variety of allocated works as required by the client.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Management of day to day jobs allocated by a central team
To ensure all assigned tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient standard
Promoting the client’s corporate image and excellent service standard on every resident visit
Making decisions upon specialist experience and knowledge
Ensuring compliance at all times with necessary regulations, standards, and legal responsibilities of repair work and contractor compliance
Managing van stock effectively
Taking part in out of hours on call system as required by the service

Knowledge and Experience

Experience within a domestic maintenance environment
Carpenter / Multi Trade experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills, telephone skills and interpersonal skills
Excellent planning and organisational skills
An understanding and ability to show excellent customer service skills

Certificates and Qualifications

Trade City & Guilds/ NVQ qualification (Preferred)
Asbestos Awareness Training (ARC can provide free online certification for this)
Full UK driving license.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8-5pm. (42.5 hours per week).

This role is offered on an ongoing temporary basis with the possibility of becoming permanent.

You will need to have your own transport for this role, however, a company van and fuel card may be provided should the role become permanent.

You will be working in the Repairs & Voids Team completing maintenance work as required by tenants, including carrying out essential reactive maintenance, installation and repair works on domestic properties, and any other duties including multi skilling works associated with your core trade. This is a full-time ongoing role with the prospect of becoming permanent.

City & Guilds Level 2 or NVQ level 2 or equivalent in plumbing and heating installation.
Proven ability to produce work consistently to a high standards
Ability to complete relevant certification for Plumbing works self-motivated able to work on your own initiative
Willingness or experience in using a handheld Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to complete work and maintain van stocks.
