Company & Project:

Our client is looking for Experienced Multi Traders to work on Reactive & Void properties around the Ipswich area. You will be required to ensure planned works, responsive and void repairs are carried out efficiently and effectively with high quality service.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Multi Trader:

As the Multi Trader you’ll be responsible for delivery of repairs and maintenance works within void and responsive repair service.
As the Multi Trader you’ll complete allocated works which will fall within operative’s trade / skill set but could range from carpentry, plumbing, groundworks, painting/decorating, external works, tiling, plastering etc
As the Multi Trader you’ll deal with tenant enquiries and respond in a professional manner reporting anything back to the relevant manager.
As the Multi Trader you’ll be required to comply with the policies and practices of the Association, to deliver and act in accordance with the Dignity & Diversity Policy and to be responsible for undertaking working practices in a safe manner in accordance with the Association’s Health and Safety Policy.
As the Multi Trader you’ll work closely with the Local Delivery Manager, Local Delivery Team Leader & the Senior Operative (if applicable) in all aspects of the repairs and maintenance service as required.
As the Multi Trader you’ll need to refer complex technical queries to the manager.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications for the role of Multi Trader:

Minimum of either full trade Apprenticeship or NVQ level two or appropriate trade experience within at least 2 different trades
Good written and spoken communication
Experience working on property maintenance & social housing
Experience working directly with customers
Basic/good IT Skills, (working with emails & smart phones)
Health and Safety Qualification
Valid Driving Licence

Duties & Responsibilities of a Quantity Surveyor:

As a Quantity Surveyor you will be expected to prepare tender and contract documents
Reviewing & Understand Client amendments to contract & Client ERs
Undertaking cost analysis for tender returns on the project & produce comparison.
Assisting in establishing the client’s requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
Performing risk and value management and cost control.
Identify Value Engineering, Savings, & Commercial opportunities
Advising on procurement strategy, & responsible for timely procurement.
Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
Allocating work to subcontractors.
Providing advice on contractual claims.
Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
Preparing a monthly cost report (AFR) including forecast & control of prelim costs

Desirable Experience required to work as a Quantity Surveyor:

Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor on residential projects
Strong communication skills with good interpersonal and influencing skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (MS Word, Excel) etc

Qualifications & Skills required to work as a Quantity Surveyor:

Degree qualified
A creative and innovative approach to problem solving
Strong numeracy and financial management skills
The ability to learn sophisticated design and costing IT packages
The ability to write clear and precise reports and to relate complex information in a simple way to a diverse range of people
Negotiation and team work skills
The ability to motivate and lead those on site
A detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters.
