One of our clients, a large contractor who carry out repairs and maintenance on social housing properties, are looking for a General Labourer to carry out day-to-day labouring tasks within domestic dwellings including guttering work, clearing properties ready for new tenants to move in.
This job will involve assisnting gutter repairers / gutter installers who are responsible for inspecting, repairing, and installing gutters. They also assist other roofing jobs. You need to be comfortable using ladders and are not afraid of confined spaces.
Duties & Responsibilities of a Clean & Clear Labourer
- Carrying out all aspects of general labouring duties on domestic dwellings, both internally and externally.
- Liaising with planners, tenants and premises managers with regards to the timing and progression of all works being undertaken
- Ensuring the safe handling and storage of all plant and equipment, including regular checks for road worthiness on vehicles for which you are responsible.
- Undertaking all work in accordance with Health & Safety policy statements and safe working practices
- Carrying out all tasks in association with your works
- Undertaking other duties as reasonably allocated by the line manager
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures
Education & Qualifications:
- Relevant trade qualification or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Relevant qualifications in any additional building skills
Experience and Attributes of a General Labourer :
- Experience of working for a social landlord, council or housing association
- Good team player
- Ability to use own initiative and to work within guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent customer care qualities are vital to this role as you will be expected to liaise with customers and clients on a daily basis.
