Our client are looking for an experienced estimator to assist them on a minor works and maintenance project in Norwich.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Clear understanding of work scope and best estimation with respect to the execution of project.
- Estimate from fully designed documents and room data/design and build sheets.
- Ensure that commercial submissions to tenders fully comply with all necessary details.
- Ensure the Estimate is built up methodically and in sufficient detail and is in accordance with good estimating practice.
- Deal directly with clients and assist with the Sales teams with client meetings when required.
- Able to assist in the preparation of tenders, including reviewing tender documents, take supplier & sub-contractor inquiries, inputting of prices and data.
- Organised, meticulous and methodical.
- Professional and confident, with good communication skills both written and verbal, able to deal directly with clients.
- Prepare and submit estimates in line with company guidelines.
- Obtain materials and subcontractor quotations.
- Organise and track market price of equipment, material and construction costs.
- Work with in-house surveyors for initial design and review of proposed projects.
- Review cost documentation and client specifications, in order to prepare accurate cost estimation
- Prepare handover documentation for successful projects and attend internal pre-start meetings
- Ensure that tender clarifications are communicated to our clients at an early stage
- Produce tenders or pricing documents that are competitive, accurate and compliant.
- Submit bids within given timescales to main contractors
- Complete any other duties as might be reasonably required
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong track record of estimating minor works and maintenance projects.
- The successful candidate will work closely within a collaborative team of surveyors and project managers.
- Good standard of educational attainment, inc Maths and IT skills and have a strong problem-solving ability and keen attention to detail.
- You’ll also need to be able to communicate well, verbally and in writing, and be able to manage projects.
- Organisational and presentational skills are crucial.
