ARC Group are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to assist our M&E client with their projects in and around cambridgeshire. As the Mechanical Supervisor you will be supporting the Project Managers in overseeing and managing the Installation of the mechanical services and control of Subcontractors.

Main Duties Include, But Not Limited To;

To take responsibility for the overall performance of the on-site works
To lead, motivate and develop the site-based team.
To lead the relevant site-based project team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Engineering standards.
To ensure works are carried out to high standard complying with relevant British Standards and codes of practice.
Drive the design team to achieve a compliant design for each project in line with deliverables schedule from client
To develop customer relationships and provide excellent customer service.

Key Requirements;

Experience in a supervisor role
A good knowledge of Mechanical building services
SMSTS/SSSTS, First Aid
Practical experience within the building industry
Health and Safety experience
Sound knowledge of computers software, Microsoft Office

Our client, a reputable building contractor with contracts across East Anglia is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is an office based role with occasional working from home opportunities.

All levels of experience considered from graduate to senior level.

Main Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager you will:

Ensure commercial & contractual control and co-ordination of the efforts of all parties involved in the execution of a specified project or range of projects.

Ensure that the company’e policies and procedures are followed whilst maximising commercial performance of a specified project or range of projects.

Scope of the Role

Generally

In conjunction with the relevant Project Management team member, be accountable for the profitability of the projects and develop an appropriate commercial strategy for the projects to ensure delivery of required margins.
Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with standard company procedures and work instructions.
Manage the subcontract tender process, including the selection of sub-contractors and provision of all relevant contract and schedule documentation
Be accountable for the activities of any directly reporting quantity surveying staff, including mentoring junior members of the team.
Contribute to the management and maintenance of a contract cost reporting system, ensuring all financial information is managed and up-to-date and tracked with budget/tender allowances, commitments and deviations highlighted and managed.
Along with other members of the team, produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value.
Continually monitor projected costs to completion in line with budget
To ensure the client requirements are delivered in a timely manner as set out in the contract and maintain genuine effective business relationships.
Ensure contract variations are identified, valued and turned into agreed variation orders with the customer in a timely manner.
Create SMP and AMP for planned works contracts

Education/Qualifications
Essential		Desirable
Educated to degree level or equivalent		Membership of suitable professional body

Experience

Have previous experience in Quantity Surveying within a relevant business environment.
Hold a valid CSCS card.
Have sound working knowledge of construction and Contract Law and various forms of Conditions of Contract.
Have detailed knowledge and understanding of tendering and procurement processes.

Skills and Attributes

Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work within a dynamic team environment.
Effective negotiation skills
Self-motivated and shows initiative.
Logical thinking with problem-solving ability.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work.
Computer Literate including excellent knowledge of all MS Office packages.
Highly numerate and able to identify highlights and exceptions.
Be able to successfully manage a team of staff, providing guidance, development and support.
Able to deliver reports to other managers in accordance with strict deadlines.
