We are currently recruiting for a buyer for a residential developer to work in Woodbridge.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Duties will involve full material procurement, as well as completing various administrative tasks.
• Liaising with suppliers, preparing key documents for Valuation Meetings and contributing to the running of an efficient Commercial Department.
• Responsible for the material scheduling for a number of housing development sites at any one time. 
• Working alongside the Senior Buyer to ensure smooth running of the department.
• Being able to communicate efficiently with the Commercial Director.

Desirable Experience:

• Must have previous experience as a Buyer or Assistant Buyer.
• An HND qualification (or equivalent) in a Building related subject is highly desirable.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel packages and also demonstrate good communication skills.
• Must be an enthusiastic, focussed and hardworking individual.

They are looking for a site manager, with a demonstrated history of working on traditional residential projects with RC frame projects as well a tradional, to help oversee a developments in the Cambridgeshire area.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily on-site operations
• Coordinate employee schedules, ensuring adequate coverage
• Enforce all workplace policies and procedures
• Coordinate training and professional development activities for employees
• Maintain and adhere to departmental budget
• Approve project plans
• Address and report safety concerns in a timely manner
• Track and monitors project progress, adhering to prearranged standards
• Ensure compliance across the work site
• Review all project contracts before submitting to management

Our client, a company that specialises in new build and refurbishments are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cambridge.

Duties & Responsibilities (including and not limited to):

• Oversee daily on-site operations
• Coordinate employee schedules, ensuring adequate coverage
• Enforce all workplace policies and procedures
• Coordinate training and professional development activities for employees
• Maintain and adhere to departmental budget
• Approve project plans
• Address and report safety concerns in a timely manner
• Track and monitors project progress, adhering to prearranged standards
• Ensure compliance across the work site
• Review all project contracts before submitting to management
• Manage sub-contractors to ensure all deadlines are met
• Protect the company’s contractual position on all projects worked on
• Measurements, valuations, and agreement of work sections
• Submission of accurate and timely payment applications, and chasing payment certificates and outstanding payments
• Ability to identify areas of overspend, waste and commercial risk, and be able to produce feasibility studies and cost plans
• Production of accurate internal cost reporting, in addition to producing final accounts, and extension of time claims
• Working closely with the Construction team, able to advise on commercial risks and opportunities within projects
• Price tender submissions
• Cashflows, cost reporting and contract adjudication
• Meet clients and attend site meetings to review and discuss work carried out

Desirable Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a QS on residential or commercial projects.
• Be able to prioritise workload, work under pressure, be adaptable and resourceful
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities.

Job Title – Quantity Surveyor

Salary – £55,000 – £65,000 Dependent on experience

Location – Norfolk

Our client, a reputable building contractor with contracts across East Anglia is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is an office based role with occasional working from home opportunities. 

All levels of experience considered from graduate to senior level.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager you will:

Ensure commercial & contractual control and co-ordination of the efforts of all parties involved in the execution of a specified project or range of projects.

Ensure that the company’e policies and procedures are followed whilst maximising commercial performance of a specified project or range of projects.

Generally

• In conjunction with the relevant Project Management team member, be accountable for the profitability of the projects and develop an appropriate commercial strategy for the projects to ensure delivery of required margins.
• Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with standard company procedures and work instructions.
• Manage the subcontract tender process, including the selection of sub-contractors and  provision of all relevant contract and schedule documentation
• Be accountable for the activities of any directly reporting quantity surveying staff, including mentoring junior members of the team.
• Contribute to the management and maintenance of a contract cost reporting system, ensuring all financial information is managed and up-to-date and tracked with budget/tender allowances, commitments and deviations highlighted and managed.
• Along with other members of the team, produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value.
• Continually monitor projected costs to completion in line with budget
• To ensure the client requirements are delivered in a timely manner as set out in the contract and maintain genuine effective business relationships.
• Ensure contract variations are identified, valued and turned into agreed variation orders with the customer in a timely manner.
• Create SMP and AMP for planned works contracts
