Are you a detail-oriented Transport Planner with a solid understanding of trailer movements? Do you thrive in a fast-paced port environment where no two days are the same?

Our client, a well-established and growing logistics company, is looking for a talented Transport Planner to join their dynamic team based in the heart of the UK’s busiest container port, Felixstowe.

The Role:

As a Transport Planner, you will be at the core of their operations. You will be responsible for the efficient and cost-effective planning of container and trailer movements, ensuring a seamless service for their valued customers.

Your key duties will include:

• Planning and scheduling daily transport runs for a fleet of vehicles and trailers.

• Optimising routes and loads to maximise efficiency and profitability.

• Allocating resources effectively, with a specific focus on trailer availability.

• Liaising with drivers, customers, and port operatives to ensure smooth operations.

• Proactively solving problems and mitigating delays.

• Maintaining accurate records and providing timely updates.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You will have:

• Proven experience as a Transport Planner, preferably within a port or fast-paced HGV logistics environment.

• Essential experience in planning for trailers – a strong understanding of their utilisation and management is key.

• Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK road network.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.

• A proactive and problem-solving mindset.

• Competency with standard Transport Planning software.

The Reward:

• A starting basic salary of £38,000 per annum.

• A salary increase to £40,000 per annum after a successful 3-month probation period, subject to performance.
