Job Title – Floor Layer

Location – London and South East

Pay rate – £20-22 per hour + company vehicle and fuel card can be provided 

Our client, a well established family run maintenance contractor based in the South East is looking for experienced floor layers for commercial refurbishment works.

The work is primarily for a large pub chain with locations across London and the South East

Requirements for Floor layer:

– Experience in floor laying in particular altro floors and cap and cove.

– Good customer service skills

– Full driving licence

Travel around London and the South East will be required.

Standard hours of work are Monday- Friday mimumum 8 hours but there is no limit on overtaime available including weekends and nights if desired. (Paid at time and a half)

Company van and fuel card will be provided for £11 daily fee , which can be kept at home or full mileage paid if use of own van is optional.

Long term ongoing work available on self – employed basis.

Our client, a large social housing contractor, is seeking a qualified Domestic Electrician to work in occupied and void properties undertaking responsive maintenance, planned and void works.  You will be responsible for replacing accessories, fault finding, consumer unit upgrades, installing fans, smoke detectors, full and partial rewiring, and Electrical Installation Condition Reports in domestic properties.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Domestic Electrician: 

• Install service and maintain electrical systems and appliances in domestic and commercial properties to a high-quality standard in accordance with the current Edition of The IET Wiring Regulations.
• Install, repair, inspect & test electrical installations and have the ability to fill in correctly, the appropriate Electrical Certificate for the task.
• Excellent customer care qualities are vital to this role. You will be expected to liaise with customers and clients daily.
• You will be expected to manage and order van stock which will be tailored to your requirements.
• Competent use of handheld PDA’s is required to receive and complete job orders.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Ensure company H&S procedures are followed

Experience, Qualifications & Skills of a Domestic Electrician: 

• Previous experience working in a customer service-based role is essential, and experience within Social Housing would be useful but is not essential
• A good basic understanding of site-based Health & Safety
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, City & Guilds 2361 Part 1 & 2
• 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
• Driving licence
• 2391 test and inspect

Job Purpose

To support the renewable heating energy installations including first and second fix electrical installations and carry out EICR reports.

Key responsibilities:

•             Undertaking electrical engineering works for renewable energy & heating installations, primarily inside domestic settings, for air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, solar PV installations & EV charging points.

•             Carrying out first & second fix electrical installations, primarily in domestic settings.

•             Installing, repairing & maintaining electrical systems while observing all statutory & legal requirements.

Education & qualifications

Essential

•             Electrical trade qualifications-minimum 18th Edition qualified

•             NVQ Level 3 or above.

•             Full driving license

Desirable

•             Experience of renewable heating systems.

•             BPEC qualifications in heat pumps, unvented, water regulations and Part L

•             Electrical Engineering qualifications.

Work Experience

Essential

•             1 years’ experience of working in as an electrician

Responsibilities of a Housing Repairs and Maintenance Quantity Surveyor

• Manage the end-to-end process of subcontractors
• Undertake all pre and post contract quantity surveying duties including, but not limited to; understanding of contract documentation, the pricing of target prices, AMPs, tender build ups, Compensation Events / variations, the measurement
• Undertake any other duties as required by the company, which may include cover for any absences, and attend informal and formal company & client meetings and training sessions as required.
