We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Kitchen and Bathroom Fitter to work in and around Grantham and the surrounding area. This is a full-time, permanent role which includes a van and fuel card. You will be completing planned and reactive works for maintenance projects and be part of a growing family run business based in Grantham.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Kitchen & Bathroom Fitter:

Full installation of kitchen and bathroom upgrades as part of a planned works upgrade programme.

Effective and efficient installation of bathrooms and kitchens, including all associated works within both occupied and void properties using the required tools.

Assessing and carrying out accurate planned repairs efficiently and effectively.

Ensuring that the work is undertaken in a timely manner, whilst maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Managing customer enquiries, responding in a professional manner coordinating with our Operations Centre.

Providing out of hours support on a rota based system. Additional remuneration will be incorporated for this.

Desirable Experience of a Kitchen & Bathroom Fitter:

The ability to read drawings
Basic decorating skills
Ceramic tiling
Floor levelling
Laying of floor tiles
Basic Plumbing and Carpentry skills

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of either full trade Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 within a relevant trade OR a proven track record to reflect appropriate trade experience with Kitchen and Bathroom modification
A good knowledge of the general building and construction industry
Good understanding and knowledge of basic Health and Safety
Full UK Driving License

Our client, a property maintenance company working within the social housing sector, is looking for an experienced Multi-Trader to carry out domestic maintenance works on a social housing contract, assisting in the reactive repairs and void operations in properties covering Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding area. The candidate will ideally skilled and experienced in carpentry and plumbing, and skills within other trades.

The successful individual will ideally hold a minimum level 2 NVQ or be time-served in carpentry whilst also being experienced in completing various other day-to-day repairs/maintenance tasks such as plumbing, plastering tiling, painting and decorating etc. As a skilled multi- trade operative with relevant experience in responsive maintenance and voids works you will be required to undertake a variety of allocated works across your designated area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Management of day-to-day jobs allocated by a central team.
Updating PDA devices with key information and work schedules.
Ensuring all assigned tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient standard.
Promoting the client’s corporate image and excellent service standard on every resident visit.
Making decisions upon specialist experience and knowledge.
Ensuring compliance at all times with necessary regulations, standards, and legal responsibilities of repair work and contractor compliance.
Managing van stock effectively.
Taking part in out of hours on call system as required by the service.

Knowledge and Experience

Experience within a domestic maintenance environment.
Carpenter / Multi-Trade experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills, telephone skills and interpersonal skills.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
An understanding and ability to show excellent customer service skills.

Certificates and Qualifications

Trade City & Guilds/ NVQ qualification.
Asbestos Awareness Training. (ARC can provide free online training for this)
Full UK driving license.

Working hours will be Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 17.00pm, early finish Fridays with 30 minutes lunch.

The role is offered on a temp to perm basis with the potential to lead to a full-time position with the company after a minimum period of 13 weeks, providing performance and standards are met.

All responsive repairs operatives are entitled to upskill through Trade Plus scheme which if successful will add an additional £2k p/a.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Junior Bid Writer:-

Reporting directly to the Head of Sustainability & Business Assurance, responsible for maintaining the bid library including company qualification and accreditation certificates, staff profiles, case studies, submitting clarifications to clients during the bid process
Managing all tender portals including the preparation of Selection Questionnaires (SQ) and writing bids as part of the company’s business development team.
Monitoring tracker portals for new opportunities and selecting those appropriate
Maintaining the Activity Tracker and managing the Bid Team email inbox
Writing quality responses as required, whether these are stand alone SQs or those that are part of a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) or Invitation to Tender (ITT)
Completing all requirements for Dynamic Purchasing System/Approved Supplier applications (with assistance from other bid team members where required)
Uploading bid submissions to client portals
Setting up bid folders on the shared drive for each new opportunity
Administration of the bid folder system
Collating information for all submissions
Attending supplier event or engagement days and webinars
Assisting production of departmental statistics for management meetings within agreed timescales
Assisting and covering for other administrative staff as required.

Experience of a Junior Bid Writer:-

Proven experience of co-ordinating projects or previous bid and tender experience
Experience within the Construction Industry would be an advantage
High level Bid Writing with the ability to be descriptive but concise
Managing multiple deadlines and required to manage time accurately, work to deadlines, and work flexibly in a rapidly developing environment
