Job description: Domestic Electrician Location: Colchester, Suffolk Salary: £33,500.00- £35,363 p/a + van+fuel card and overtime available Our client is a community centred housing association with around 8,700 homes in East Anglia.They empower their residents to make key decisions about their homes and the services they provide & pride themselves on being more than a landlord. To carry out multi-trade maintenance and repair works to all required properties. This will be achieved by demonstrating a thorough competency in various trades, in addition to using the skills obtained through a core trade qualification. Key Functional Responsibilities:

Tasks /experience:
- New build installations
- Rewires (flush and surface in voids or occupied properties)
- EICRs
- Completing remedial work
- Consumer unit changes
- Kitchen /bathroom upgrades
- Wiring and installation of hard wired smoke detection
- wiring of boiler controls would be beneficial (S plan, y plan, combi boilers)
What we are looking for:
- Experience of installing, servicing and maintaining electrical systems and appliances in accordance with the current Edition of IET Wiring Regulations.
- Knowledge to install, repair, inspect & test electrical installations and have the ability to fill in correctly, the appropriate Electrical Certificate or Electrical Condition Report.
What you need to have:

- Minimum NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation
- City & Guilds 17th or 18th Edition
- Inspection and Testing 2391/2 2394/5 or equivalent
- Ideally previous domestic, social housing experience
- Time served with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
Working hours will be Monday to Friday 07.30am to 16:00pm with 30 minutes lunch deducted. A van, fuel card and uniform will be issued with this role. Overtime available & paid x 1.5.
There is an on call rota which you will be asked to join after a qualifying period. DBS check will be required for this role.
Immediate start available for the right candidate. The interview will be arranged to assess suitability for the role.
The role is offered on a temp-perm basis with the potential to lead to a full time position with the company as long as performance and standards are met.
