Company, Project & benefits of a PV Installer
Our client, a reputable building and roofing company operating in the private, commercial and public sectors, are looking for a Solar PV Roof Installer to help to continue the growth of their Renewable Energy Division. Current projects range from minor repairs and maintenance, bespoke projects through to major capital improvement programs.
Working hours are 8am -5pm Monday to Friday. 30 minutes lunch.
Responsibilities of a PV Installer
- Setting up solar panels on roofs or other structures to convert solar power into renewable energy
- Planning and assessing PV system configurations based on customer needs and site conditions to ensure they are suitable for solar panels
- Measuring, cutting and assembling the support structure for installation
- Making adjustments to building surfaces so panels fit and are adequately supported
- Installing and maintaining solar panels on homes and business premises
- Connecting solar panels to an electrical system in accordance with building codes and standards, and checking electrical installation for proper wiring, polarity, grounding or integrity of terminations
- Adhering to strict Health & Safety guidelines
- Performing routine system maintenance checks and fixing solar panels, ensuring the wiring systems are safe and efficient
- Applying weather sealant to equipment being installed
- Using a variety of technical equipment and tools
Experience of a PV Installer
- Previous experience in roofing and fitting solar panels
- Previous experience in the construction industry either as an Electrician, Roofer, Carpenter or Labourer
- Must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to problem solve
- Knowledge of electrical systems
- Good attention to detail
- Analytical thinking skills
Qualifications & Skills of a PV Installer
- City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation
- Working in an integrated manner across each unique division to ensure customers are totally satisfied by the quality of services provided
