Our client, a reputable building and roofing company operating in the private, commercial and public sectors, are looking for a Solar PV Roof Installer to help to continue the growth of their Renewable Energy Division. Current projects range from minor repairs and maintenance, bespoke projects through to major capital improvement programs.

Working hours are 8am -5pm Monday to Friday. 30 minutes lunch.

Responsibilities of a PV Installer

• Setting up solar panels on roofs or other structures to convert solar power into renewable energy
• Planning and assessing PV system configurations based on customer needs and site conditions to ensure they are suitable for solar panels
• Measuring, cutting and assembling the support structure for installation
• Making adjustments to building surfaces so panels fit and are adequately supported
• Installing and maintaining solar panels on homes and business premises
• Connecting solar panels to an electrical system in accordance with building codes and standards, and checking electrical installation for proper wiring, polarity, grounding or integrity of terminations
• Adhering to strict Health & Safety guidelines
• Performing routine system maintenance checks and fixing solar panels, ensuring the wiring systems are safe and efficient
• Applying weather sealant to equipment being installed
• Using a variety of technical equipment and tools

Experience of a PV Installer

• Previous experience in roofing and fitting solar panels
• Previous experience in the construction industry either as an Electrician, Roofer, Carpenter or Labourer
• Must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to problem solve
• Knowledge of electrical systems
• Good attention to detail
• Analytical thinking skills

Qualifications & Skills of a PV Installer 

• City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation
• Working in an integrated manner across each unique division to ensure customers are totally satisfied by the quality of services provided

• As the Domestic Electrician you’ll be working on Void properties in the London area

Job Role: Carpenter/Multi-trade

Location: King’s Lynn and surrounding ares

Tasks /experience:

• New build installations
• Rewires (flush and surface in voids or occupied properties)
• EICRs
• Completing remedial work
• Consumer unit changes
• Kitchen /bathroom upgrades
• Wiring and installation of hard wired smoke detection
• wiring of boiler controls would be beneficial (S plan, y plan, combi boilers)

 What we are looking for:

• Experience of installing, servicing and maintaining electrical systems and appliances in accordance with the current Edition of IET Wiring Regulations.
• Knowledge to install, repair, inspect & test electrical installations and have the ability to fill in correctly, the appropriate Electrical Certificate or Electrical Condition Report.

What you need to have:

• • Minimum NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation
  • City & Guilds  17th or 18th Edition
  • Inspection and Testing 2391/2 2394/5 or equivalent
  • Ideally previous domestic, social housing experience
  • Time served with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 07.30am to 16:00pm with 30 minutes lunch deducted. A van, fuel card and uniform will be issued with this role. Overtime available & paid x 1.5. 

There is an on call rota which you will be asked to join after a qualifying period. DBS check will be required for this role. 

Immediate start available for the right candidate. The interview will be arranged to assess suitability for the role. 

The role is offered on a temp-perm basis with the potential to lead to a full time position with the company as long as performance and standards are met.

Job description: Multi-Trade

Salary: £28,000 -£29,000.00 per annum + extras (overtime +company van +fuel card, overtime and bonuses) 

Our client a large local social housing contractor providing maintenance services to 1000s of properties across the East is looking for an experienced Multi trades to work on a domestic maintenance social housing contract assisting in the reactive repairs in properties covering mainly Norwich area. The candidate will ideally be a skilled and experienced carpenter, plumber, roofer or plasterer who also holds skills property maintenance sector and other trades.

This is a mobile engineer role covering domestic maintenance works.
 
The successful individual will ideally hold a minimum level 2 NVQ or be time-served in carpentry whilst also being experienced in completing various other day to day repairs/maintenance tasks such as plumbing, plastering, tiling,roofing, painting and decorating etc. As a skilled multi- trade operative with relevant experience in responsive maintenance and voids works you will be required to undertake a variety of allocated works across your designated area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Management of day to day jobs allocated by a central team.
• Updating PDA devices with key information and work schedules.
• To ensure all assigned tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient standard.
• Promoting the client’s corporate image and excellent service standard on every resident visit.
• Making decisions upon specialist experience and knowledge.
• Ensuring compliance at all times with necessary regulations, standards, and legal responsibilities of repair work and contractor compliance.
• Managing van stock effectively.
• Taking part in out of hours on call system as required by the service.

Knowledge and Experience

• Experience within a domestic maintenance environment.
• Carpenter / Multi Trade experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, telephone skills and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• An understanding and ability to show excellent customer service skills.

Certificates and Qualifications

• Trade City & Guilds/ NVQ qualification.
• Asbestos Awareness Training. (ARC can provide free online training for this)
• Full UK driving license.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 7.30-16.00 hrs (3pm finish on Fridays).

There is an on call rota which you will be asked to join after a qualifying period.

The role is offered on a temp-perm basis leading to a full time position with the company after 13 weeks as long as performance and standards are met. 

A van, fuel card and uniform will be issued with this role from day 1, Overtime at 1.5 available afetr 39 hours per week.
