Job Role – Painter & Decorator

Location – Norwich

Pay Rate – 25,500.00 p/a plus company van + fuel card

Our client a large local social housing contractor providing maintenance services to 1000s of properties across the East is looking for an experienced Painting operatives to work on a domestic maintenance social housing contract assisting in the voids properties and are a mixture of internal and external works mainly Norwich area. The candidate will ideally be a skilled and experienced painter & decorator.

This is a mobile engineer role covering domestic maintenance works.

Role requirements for Painter/Decorator :

In order to be considered for the role you must have good skills in a variety of trades such as general painting, decorating mainly kitchen and bathroom areas.

– Minimum of 2 years professional painting experience
– Have own tools (brushes & whites) and transport
– Experience of facilities or housing maintenance
– Full driving licence & van/car required

Knowledge and Experience

Experience within a domestic maintenance environment.
Painting/Decorating experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills, telephone skills and interpersonal skills.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
An understanding and ability to show excellent customer service skills.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 7.30-16.00 hrs (3pm finish on Fridays).

The role is offered on a temp-perm basis leading to a full time position with the company after 13 weeks as long as performance and standards are met.

A van, fuel card and uniform will be issued with this role from day 1, Overtime at 1.5 available afetr 39 hours per week.

This is a full-time, temp-to-perm role with the potential to become permanent. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. with 30 minutes lunch break.

Qualifications & Skills of a Ceramic Wall Tiler

A minimum of 2 years’ experience and competence in all aspects of domestic tiling
City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in relevant trade, or equivalent level of competence obtained from on-the-job experience

Job description for Planner

The job role will involve providing a seamless service to residents and clients of properties across Norwich, processing repairs orders and scheduling resources to ensure that customers are given timely appointments within agreed priorities.

You will be responsible for continuously monitoring and reviewing performance delivery and make real time adjustments to work diaries to maximise the use of available resources, prioritising direct employed resources.

Main responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to:

Carry out all allocated tasks competently within determined time scales, financial budgets and free costs targets.

Provide effective support and assistance to the Contracts Manager.

Maintain the effectiveness of the IT systems used.

Provide a seamless service to all customers by ensuring resources are scheduled to ensure that customers are given timely appointments within agreed priorities

Regularly check own email inbox as well as other inboxes if on the rota to do so.

Co-ordinating and liaising on all rubbish collections.

Provide administration support to other team members and staff where appropriate.

Support the Management team to promote the repairs and maintenance services to customers, contractors and suppliers, including to external clients.

Assist the Contracts Manager with the daily liaison and monitoring of the supply chain’s activities to ensure service standards are maintained, reporting potential deviations from performance to same.

The suitable candidate will ideally have a good level of knowledge and experience in call handling and customer liaison.

A sound knowledge of social housing properties and their defects would be an advantage.

It would also be beneficial if you have experience in the following –

– Experience of working with appointment and repairs systems.

– Extensive experience of working in a customer focused environment

– The ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines while organising own working schedule.

The ability to work on own initiative and make decision to own expertise.

The ability to communicate and listen with members of the public and the workforce effectively and courteously.

Must also have a ‘can do’ attitude and a flexible approach to working arrangements.

A commitment to the production of high quality work.

This is a full-time, permanent role which includes a van and fuel card. You will be completing planned and reactive works for maintenance projects and be part of a growing family run business based in Grantham.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Kitchen & Bathroom Fitter:

Full installation of kitchen and bathroom upgrades as part of a planned works upgrade programme.

Effective and efficient installation of bathrooms and kitchens, including all associated works within both occupied and void properties using the required tools.

Assessing and carrying out accurate planned repairs efficiently and effectively.

Ensuring that the work is undertaken in a timely manner, whilst maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Managing customer enquiries, responding in a professional manner coordinating with our Operations Centre.

Providing out of hours support on a rota based system. Additional remuneration will be incorporated for this.

Desirable Experience of a Kitchen & Bathroom Fitter:

The ability to read drawings
Basic decorating skills

Basic Plumbing and Carpentry skills

Qualifications & Skills

We are looking for an Electrician who will carry out fault finding, diagnosis, appropriate repairs and new electrical installation work on local Council Properties. This is a varied role and the postholder will need to have the ability to adapt to different working conditions and be able to work individually or as part of a team.

The post holder will need to have City & Guilds Electrical Qualifications or an equivalent recognised apprenticeship, City & Guilds 2382 18^th Edition wiring regulations, a full UK Driving License and willing to be clean shaven, if applicable, for the role.

The role will require the post holder to interpret electrical schematic diagrams, reports and drawings therefore extensive experience in a domestic or electrical trade will be beneficial. Alongside this it is essential that records are up to date and accurate to ensure that we are providing the best possible service and making informed decision based on the relevant information so analytical and report writing skills will be needed for this role.

Working hours are 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm, 4pm finish Friday.

To carry out multi-trade maintenance and repair works to all required properties. This will be achieved by demonstrating a thorough competency in various trades, in addition to using the skills obtained through a core trade qualification.

Key Functional Responsibilities:

Work in a safe, professional, and courteous manner always, ensuring that all works are carried out with due regard to the Health and Safety of all persons that may be affected by the works.
Undertake repairs across various disciplines including but not limited to, Plumbing, Carpentry, Tiling, Painting, vinyl flooring.
Undertake the duties and responsibilities of the post and comply with company Health & Safety Policy, Risk Assessments, Safe Working Practices, COSHH Assessments and all relevant Health & Safety Regulations.
Uphold company customer service standards while undertaking repairs and maintenance in residents’ homes or Assets.
Hold and maintain a Full Driving Licence.
Take part in the late Wednesday evening rota (4-7pm) undertaking responsive repairs. Average of 1 in 8 weeks.

Job Role: Skilled Labourer – Flooring (Maintenance Team)

Location: London and South East areas (Dartford area ideally)

Pay: £10.50- £12.50 per hour depending on experience.

Key objective of role:

The role will be a fluid and flexible position and you will be required to provide labouring support according to the needs of the business.

For example getting properties ready for floor laying, some gerneral maintenance/clearance as well as general labouring duties. You will be required to have a “can do attitude” to embrace and accommodate all tasks. The company have just won numerous contracts in London (various locations) and are looking to expand their friendly hard working team.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to assist with the flooring installations across a range of commercial, industrial and domestic projects.

Whilst previous experience is not essential our client is seeking candidates who have previous knowledge in flooring and an advantage of cap & cove, altro flooring.

Temporary to permanent position with opportunities to progress for the right candidate along with training.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Working to deadlines to ensure the installation is carried out professionally and efficiently
Travelling to site along with the team and floor layers to carry out the duties for that day .
Maintaining and operating tools to work with relevant materials to complete the site project for that day.
Due to the nature of the work candidates must possess a valid driving license and own travel.

– CSCS not required.
