Description

ARC are looking for warehouse operatives / pickers / packers to work near Stowmarket area.
Working on days 07.00am start till 15.30/16.00hrs , aprox 9 hours a day, Monday to Friday, times and days may vary. This is ongoing, long term job after successful training. Own transport is essential due to location of the job. Pay starts from £9.87 per hour.

Main duties:

Packing , boxing and labelling already packed products
Loading /unloading & strapping pallets
Assisting busy production line
General Lifting
Health & safety awareness

Required Skills and Experience:

Good understanding of English language
Good quality of spoken English
Physically fit enough to complete and carry out a physically demanding role
Previous experience within a warehouse environment is preferred
Able to work in fast paced environment
Must have correct PPE (boots and hi-vis vest)

Duties & Responsibilities of Site Manager:-

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, responsible for the supervision of a number of site personnel, including subcontractors, ensuring all site personnel carry out their designated tasks efficiently and effectively to ensure the site teams complete the work effectively, on time and within budget.
Proactively input to the production of the overall programme of works, continually reviewing progress of works against the programme, schedule of works and budget, and providing timely reports to the Contracts Manager and other stakeholders.
Managing the site to meet quality and compliance standards, compliance with all aspects of Health & Safety regulations on site and providing relevant reports in a timely manner.
Making suggestions in relation to improvements/upselling opportunities.
Managing staff including recruitment, training, capability, disciplinary, talent development and succession.
Managing all aspects of Health & Safety compliance on site through effective training, risk assessment and audits, and resolving and escalating queries in a timely manner.
Proactively working with the Customer Liaison team to understand customer needs in order to prevent complaints, and resolving customer-related issues in a proactive and timely manner.
Attending monthly cost meetings.
Client liaison.
Dealing with the requisition of materials.
Issuing sub-contractor short term programmes.
Holding regular progress meetings.
Updating the construction programme.
Checking the quality of all plant on site.

Desirable Experience of Site Manager:-

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in site management with refurbishment/refit and planned works
Experience of working within social housing would be advantageous
Must be an enthusiastic self-starter with confident communication skills

Qualifications & Skills of Site Manager:-

Must have experience of working in social housing
Strong experience in Refurbishment and maintenance contracts especially within Social Housing tenanted properties

Possess a trade background
Must hold a current SMSTS, CSCS (ideally black)
First Aid at Work
A stable and progressive career history
Flexible in hours of work as the role will require travelling and working nights
Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office & Project

Job description: Carpenter / Multi Trade

Location: Great Yarmouth / Lowestoft/ Saxmundam & Leiston

Salary: £28,500 -£30,000.00 per annum + extras (overtime +company van +fuel card, trade plus bonuses)

Our client a large local social housing contractor providing maintenance services to 1000s of properties across the East is looking for an experienced Carpenter/ multi trade to work on a domestic maintenance social housing contract assisting in the reactive repairs and void operations in properties covering Great Yarmouth / Lowestoft/ Saxmundam & Leiston area. The candidate will ideally be a skilled and experienced carpenter who also holds skills in plumbing and other trades.

This is a mobile engineer role covering domestic maintenance works.

The successful individual will ideally hold a minimum level 2 NVQ or be time-served in carpentry whilst also being experienced in completing various other day to day repairs/maintenance tasks such as plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting and decorating etc. As a skilled multi- trade operative with relevant experience in responsive maintenance and voids works you will be required to undertake a variety of allocated works across your designated area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Management of day to day jobs allocated by a central team.
Updating PDA devices with key information and work schedules.
To ensure all assigned tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient standard.
Promoting the client’s corporate image and excellent service standard on every resident visit.
Making decisions upon specialist experience and knowledge.
Ensuring compliance at all times with necessary regulations, standards, and legal responsibilities of repair work and contractor compliance.
Managing van stock effectively.
Taking part in out of hours on call system as required by the service.

Knowledge and Experience

Experience within a domestic maintenance environment.
Carpenter / Multi Trade experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills, telephone skills and interpersonal skills.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
An understanding and ability to show excellent customer service skills.

Certificates and Qualifications

Trade City & Guilds/ NVQ qualification.
Asbestos Awareness Training. (ARC can provide free online training for this)
Full UK driving license.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday (2.30pm finish on Fridays).

There is an on call rota which you will be asked to join after a qualifying period.

The role is offered on a temp-perm basis leading to a full time position with the company after 13 weeks as long as performance and standards are met.

A van, fuel card and uniform will be issued with this role from day 1.

Overtime available.

All responsive repairs operatives are entitled to upskill through Trade Plus scheme which if successful will add an additional £2000 per annum on the basic salary.

Duties & Responsibilities of a Kitchen & Bathroom Fitter:

Full installation of kitchen and bathroom upgrades as part of a planned works upgrade programme.

Effective and efficient installation of bathrooms and kitchens, including all associated works within both occupied and void properties using the required tools.

Assessing and carrying out accurate planned repairs efficiently and effectively.

Ensuring that the work is undertaken in a timely manner, whilst maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Managing customer enquiries, responding in a professional manner coordinating with our Operations Centre.

Providing out of hours support on a rota based system. Additional remuneration will be incorporated for this.

Desirable Experience of a Kitchen & Bathroom Fitter:

The ability to read drawings
Basic decorating skills
Ceramic tiling
Floor levelling
Laying of floor tiles
Basic Plumbing and Carpentry skills

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of either full trade Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 within a relevant trade OR a proven track record to reflect appropriate trade experience with Kitchen and Bathroom modification
A good knowledge of the general building and construction industry

Job description

The job role will involve providing a seamless service to residents and clients of properties across Norwich, processing repairs orders and scheduling resources to ensure that customers are given timely appointments within agreed priorities.

You will be responsible for continuously monitoring and reviewing performance delivery and make real time adjustments to work diaries to maximise the use of available resources, prioritising direct employed resources.

Main responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to:

Carry out all allocated tasks competently within determined time scales, financial budgets and free costs targets.

Provide effective support and assistance to the Contracts Manager.

Maintain the effectiveness of the IT systems used.

Provide a seamless service to all customers by ensuring resources are scheduled to ensure that customers are given timely appointments within agreed priorities

Regularly check own email inbox as well as other inboxes if on the rota to do so.

Co-ordinating and liaising on all rubbish collections.

Provide administration support to other team members and staff where appropriate.

Support the Management team to promote the repairs and maintenance services to customers, contractors and suppliers, including to external clients.

Assist the Contracts Manager with the daily liaison and monitoring of the supply chain’s activities to ensure service standards are maintained, reporting potential deviations from performance to same.

The suitable candidate will ideally have a good level of knowledge and experience in call handling and customer liaison.

A sound knowledge of social housing properties and their defects would be an advantage.

It would also be beneficial if you have experience in the following –

– Experience of working with appointment and repairs systems.

– Extensive experience of working in a customer focused environment

– The ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines while organising own working schedule.

The ability to work on own initiative and make decision to own expertise.

The ability to communicate and listen with members of the public and the workforce effectively and courteously.

Must also have a ‘can do’ attitude and a flexible approach to working arrangements.

A commitment to the production of high quality work.

Prepared to undertake additional training.
