Job Title: Multi-Trader Location: Norwich Salary: £160.00 per day, self-employed (CIS) Our client, a local authority contractor responsible for the repairs and maintenance of properties across the Norwich area, is recruiting for an experienced Plumber / Multi-Trader to join their team. Job Purpose
Carrying out essential maintenance, installation and repair works to domestic properties, including plumbing in sinks and fitting bathrooms, together with any other multi skilled works associated with your core trade.
Key Strategic Responsibilities
To work on the Repairs and Voids team completing any maintenance work as required by the tenants.
Key Functional Responsibilities

Experience	• Experience in maintenance and repair work in occupied residential properties including minor carpentry, plumbing, wall tiling and plastering works • Proven experience in all aspects of repairs
Knowledge and Skills	• Proven ability to produce work consistently to a high standards • Ability to complete relevant certification for Plumbing works self-motivated able to work on your own initiative • Willingness or experience in using a handheld Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to complete work and maintain van stocks. • Holder of a full current driving licence • Proven interpersonal and technical skills. • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service

We have an exciting opportunity for a Ceramic Wall Tiler to work for a local authority contractor within domestic properties on a kitchen and bathroom upgrade programme. The work will involve splash back tiling in kitchens and bathroom tiling.

This is a full-time, temp to perm role with the opportunity to go permanent after 13 weeks with the agency. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. with 30 minutes lunch break.

Qualifications & Skills of a Ceramic Wall Tiler

A minimum of 2 years’ experience and competence in all aspects of domestic tiling
City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in relevant trade, or equivalent level of competence obtained from on-the-job experience

Our client, a property maintenance company working within the social housing sector, is looking for an experienced Multi-Trader to carry out domestic maintenance works on a social housing contract, assisting in the reactive repairs and void operations in properties covering Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding area. The candidate will ideally skilled and experienced in carpentry and plumbing, and skills within other trades.

The successful individual will ideally hold a minimum level 2 NVQ or be time-served in carpentry whilst also being experienced in completing various other day-to-day repairs/maintenance tasks such as plumbing, plastering tiling, painting and decorating etc. As a skilled multi- trade operative with relevant experience in responsive maintenance and voids works you will be required to undertake a variety of allocated works across your designated area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Management of day-to-day jobs allocated by a central team.
Updating PDA devices with key information and work schedules.
Ensuring all assigned tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient standard.
Promoting the client’s corporate image and excellent service standard on every resident visit.
Making decisions upon specialist experience and knowledge.
Ensuring compliance at all times with necessary regulations, standards, and legal responsibilities of repair work and contractor compliance.
Managing van stock effectively.
Taking part in out of hours on call system as required by the service.

Knowledge and Experience

Experience within a domestic maintenance environment.
Carpenter / Multi-Trade experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills, telephone skills and interpersonal skills.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
An understanding and ability to show excellent customer service skills.

Certificates and Qualifications

Trade City & Guilds/ NVQ qualification.
Asbestos Awareness Training. (ARC can provide free online training for this)
Full UK driving license.

Working hours will be Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 17.00pm, early finish Fridays with 30 minutes lunch.

The role is offered on a temp to perm basis with the potential to lead to a full-time position with the company after a minimum period of 13 weeks, providing performance and standards are met.

All responsive repairs operatives are entitled to upskill through Trade Plus scheme which if successful will add an additional £2k p/a.

Job description for Planner

The job role will involve providing a seamless service to residents and clients of properties across Norwich, processing repairs orders and scheduling resources to ensure that customers are given timely appointments within agreed priorities.

You will be responsible for continuously monitoring and reviewing performance delivery and make real time adjustments to work diaries to maximise the use of available resources, prioritising direct employed resources.

Main responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to:

Carry out all allocated tasks competently within determined time scales, financial budgets and free costs targets.

Provide effective support and assistance to the Contracts Manager.

Maintain the effectiveness of the IT systems used.

Provide a seamless service to all customers by ensuring resources are scheduled to ensure that customers are given timely appointments within agreed priorities

Regularly check own email inbox as well as other inboxes if on the rota to do so.

Co-ordinating and liaising on all rubbish collections.

Provide administration support to other team members and staff where appropriate.

Support the Management team to promote the repairs and maintenance services to customers, contractors and suppliers, including to external clients.

Assist the Contracts Manager with the daily liaison and monitoring of the supply chain’s activities to ensure service standards are maintained, reporting potential deviations from performance to same.

The suitable candidate will ideally have a good level of knowledge and experience in call handling and customer liaison.

A sound knowledge of social housing properties and their defects would be an advantage.

It would also be beneficial if you have experience in the following –

– Experience of working with appointment and repairs systems.

– Extensive experience of working in a customer focused environment

– The ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines while organising own working schedule.

The ability to work on own initiative and make decision to own expertise.

The ability to communicate and listen with members of the public and the workforce effectively and courteously.

Must also have a ‘can do’ attitude and a flexible approach to working arrangements.

A commitment to the production of high quality work.

Responsibilities of a PV Installer

Setting up solar panels on roofs or other structures to convert solar power into renewable energy
Planning and assessing PV system configurations based on customer needs and site conditions to ensure they are suitable for solar panels
Measuring, cutting and assembling the support structure for installation
Making adjustments to building surfaces so panels fit and are adequately supported
Installing and maintaining solar panels on homes and business premises
