Job Role – Painter and Decorator

Location – Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, Saxmundham and surrounding areas

Pay Rate – £145.00 per day (must have own van)

Our client, a subcontractor who deliver high quality services to clients in the social housing and local authority sector are seeking a painter / decorator to join their maintenance team on an ongoing basis.

Working hours are 8-5pm Monday to Friday.

The role

The role will involve working in void and occupied domestic properties mainly in and around the Norwich area. This will be painting and decorating kitchens, bathrooms and interiors while at the same time offering a high standard of customer service.

Role requirements

In order to be considered for the role you must have good skills in a variety of trades such as general painting, decorating mainly kitchen and bathroom areas.

– Asbestos Awareness & Manual Handling Certificates (we can provide access to free online courses)

– Minimum of 2 years professional painting experience       

– Have own tools (brushes & whites) and transport

– Experience of facilities or housing maintenance

– Preferably have experience of working in social housing or tenanted properties.

– Full driving licence & van required. 

Both self-employed and PAYE options are available. In return the client can offer competitive pay rates, paid mileage as well as ongoing work.

This position is temp-perm.

Overtime and longer hours available depending on demand.

The Role: Bathroom & Wetroom Fitter / DDA Fitter

As part of our planned works team you will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of Bathroom refurbishments and installs including all associated works within both occupied and unoccupied properties.

The hours of work will be 42.5 per week. Working in the North Norfolk Area, from Norwich. The area covered is Norwich, Dereham, Fakenham and surrounding areas.

Duties:

• The installation of full bathroom upgrade
• Wetroom/ DDA fitting 

• Basic carpentry

• Ceramic tiling

• Basic painting and decorating

Candidates must have the following:

• Minimum of either full trade Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 within a relevant trade OR a proven track record to reflect appropriate trade experience with Bathroom modification.

• Ability to demonstrate technical skills in both core trade and associated trades.

• Ability to work with plans /detailed drawings.

• Ability to display excellent Customer Service skills both internally and externally, generating a positive working environment.

• A good knowledge of the general building and construction industry.

• Full Valid UK Manual Driving Licence.

• Good understanding and knowledge of basic Health and Safety.

Contract: Full time and permanent

Our client, a property maintenance company are looking for an experienced Plasterer to carry out void and reactive works in and around the Grantham/Lincolnshire area, assisting with all trade related tasks and ensuring that all properties are repaired, adapted and refurbished to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the effective delivery of plastering and repair including preparation of walls for impending damp injection works, full plaster works, patch repairs, skimming, coving, bonding, artexing, overboarding, rendering, basic painting and decorating, and basic carpentry, within the void, responsive and planned repair service, using the required tools
• To assess and carry out accurate planned repairs efficiently and effectively maintaining our company
• You will ensure that the work is undertaken in a timely manner, whilst maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

The role of the Resident Liaison officer will report directly to the Site Manager / Contracts Manager.

Description of Role

The RLO is required to fully liaise between the Client, Site Project Team & Residents verbally and in writing in order to progress required works with minimum disruption to residents while endeavoring to maintain steady workflow for Subcontractors. 

The RLO will be Site-based and may be required to fulfill duties concurrently on more than one Site as required.

Dependent upon experience, an RLO may be called to carry out additional duties from time to time when their junior colleagues may not.

Main Duties

1. Maintain confidentiality regarding client information at all times.
2. To operate within the equal opportunities policy framework and implement the policy within this area of work.
3. To ensure and maintain the Resident Liaison daily diary, record incidents and appointments.
4. Submission of weekly RLO Report to Site Manager / Contracts Manager.
5. Have an understanding of the works, programme and scope of works.
6. Provide information for site reports and updates for client and site management.
7. Prepare and distribute all communications to residents.
8. Establish a resident charter, maintain files, comments / query / complaints log etc.
9. Compile procedures and administration to complement your role.
10. Carry out pre- visit to each resident to explain the “type of works”, and method of “works”.
11.  Make arrangements to complete a condition survey, Household Profile and complete relevant administration.
12.  Issue four week letter or induction letter highlighting areas of insurance, scaffolding,   background to Breyer, contact details, site set up, start date etc.
13.  Keep residents informed of any changes, cancellations, progress.
14.  Carry out regular checks on residents throughout the day and at the end of each working day.
15.  Advise of any bookings and appointments, where access is denied liaise with client’s RLO or Housing Officer.
16.  End of day inspections, reconnection of services, ensuring Site Team provide services to be on at the end of each working day.
17.  Ensure that site management are immediately informed of any health and Safety issue.
18.  Be aware and sensitive to the special needs of residents who may be frail, elderly or mentally impaired.
